Here is the square version. A HUGE thank you to Amy D for the .cut file of the square scallops. I used her idea, and welded the squares from Storybook to form one big square. I used Storybook and Accent Essentials.

I saw this beautiful paper on QVC today. Of course, you know what popped into my head - I could make that with DS. So, I created this file to be cut with any paper and without spending $20.00!!! I hope you enjoy this file, I think is is so cute!

Cartridge Storage

Here is my new cartridge storage. It hangs on the wall right beside my bugs, so swapping cartridges is a breeze. The clear pockets allow me to see the cartridge names, and prevents me from having to move labels as I aquire more cartridges. It is a calander pocket chart and can be found at the office supply store Staples http://www.staples.com/office/supplies/p1_Pacon-Monthly-Calendar-Pocket-Chart_103761_Business_Supplies_10051_SEARCH. Six of the rows have seven pockets, and the top row is one long pocket. It will hold 49 cartridges and I love this new solution for storage!!!

Finally had some time to do some scrapbooking. I pre-planned the entire month, picked paper, and made titles before I scrapped the first page. So, last night I got 8 layouts done in about two hours! I was thrilled! Anyway, here are some of the results I thought you would use in your own pages.

I have not completed any scrapbook pages this year, but I have almost all of my birthday and anniversary cards DONE!!! So here are a few. I like the one with the butterflies, it was done with the flower from George, I just cut a petal off! Anyway, they are basic, but I made a ton of them!

Well, here it is!!! It is actually our 4th bedroom, a playroom, and my scrap space. I love it, and finally took pictures now that is is cleaned up! The only thing I left out is under the table with the red fabric I keep my cuttlebug and xyron. I hope you like my space! My wonderful hubby created the peg board for me when I started scrapping - 6 years ago! Anyway - enjoy!

My daughter wanted me to make a building - so I made her a town! Using my new scraproom is great - but I don't have internet access up there, so posting this is much harder than it should be!!!!!!!!!!! It is so frustrating to run up and down the stairs, and my wireless network won't work either. I need to beg hubby to do something and fast! Enjoy my new town and cross your fingers that I have internet soon!

Cricutville Instructions:
1. Collect one box for each building you would like to create. I used various cracker and cereal boxes found in my pantry.
2. Measure each box and using Design Studio enlarge each My Community building to the correct size of your box. To make gluing easier, I made my buildings the width of the box, which meant that some decorative elements (such as roofs, and trim pieces) hang over the edge of the box.
3. Install Cricut marker into cutting mechanism and then hit the scissor button to draw on your building first. Then remove the Cricut marker and carefully install the cutting blade. I always keep a finger on the grey housing to make sure that it stays in place when changing from markers to blades. Cut the design again and when finished remove from mat.
5. Lay building onto box, and if desired, mark where door openings should be.
6. Using razor, cut on marks and bend to open doors.
7.. Glue building onto box, and use blue paper where needed at the top of some buildings to create sky to fill in blank areas.
8. If you created doors, open and punch holes in them to create doorknobs. Then attach brads though the punched holes for your knobs.
9. Attach Velcro to sides of buildings so they can stick together and be easily rearranged.
10. Create townspeople. Each person in my town measures 3 inches. The pattern for the people can be found on my blog. http://christyscricutcreations.blogspot.com/ Cut each person out in desired skin tones, and then cut clothing in a variety of colors. I cut the clothing using red, black, yellow, light blue, dark blue, purple, pink, and white. When removing the clothing from the mat I used a separate tray for each person as not to get the little pieces mixed up. I then assembled each person using the color options in the tray. Use marker to accent people as indicated by cut lines.
11. Once townspeople are assembled, laminate for stability.
12. Attach townspeople to buildings using clear hook and loop tape.
13. Enjoy your new town.

I can't believe it! I'm going to be featured in the Chirp!!! I have been so busy moving, that I have totally neglected my blog, and forgot all about entering the Chirp contest! I was so shocked when I opened my e-mail this morning! Thank you to Cricut for choosing my flower mesh and I hope that everyone enjoys the cut file! I'm also looking forward to my new scrap room - and getting back to blogging soon!

Anniversary

My husband and I celebrated our 9th anniversary yesterday and I created a new heart mesh that I used as the background for his card. I will share when I come back from OBX (Outer Banks, North Carolina). While there I plan to visit one of my favorite scrapbook stores - Beach Memories. It is small, but very nice, with all things beachy. It is like my personality is everywhere in the store. I would love to just move in. Oh well, for now I'm just happy to visit. I'll post a few things I have been saving when I get back.

Numbers Mesh

OK - So I have been busy, but the truth is that I was working on a mesh that was driving me insane!!! So, I took a break and created this one instead. I saw so many neat ideas at JoAnn's today, and was inspired to do this mesh. I think it looks just like the cuttlebug folder, don't you? As for the other mesh, it is raining out - so maybe I will try it again. If not, I may try to make it using Sure Cuts A Lot. That is all I'm saying about SCAL now, because rumor has it that it may not work with the new updated DS. UGGGGGGGHHHHHH!

Anyway, I only used George.

Flower Mesh 12x12

I went to the ACMoore sale today and only stocked up on mats. I was VERY good as I had a couple of solutions carts in my hands, but am saving money for all of the new releases!!! I did fall in love with this flower mesh paper - but it was $2.00 a sheet. I thought, I can do that with DS. So, after a ton of welding (and some burping - I hate burping designs) I have the same thing!!! You do have to hand cut around the design, and be very careful lifting it off of the mat. Other than that, I am THRILLED with how it turned out. I photographed it on a black background so it would show up. Enjoy!

Christmas in July Continues....

While my daughter was napping this afternoon I made this card from my earlier design. It was so much more fun than laundry!!! I also liked that I used red to emphasize the word Christ in Christmas. I also ran it through the cuttlebug to give it some dimension. Sorry the picture is so blurry! It is sized for a 5x7 card and I used Christmas Cheer, All Mixed Up, and George.

Back to School

Wow! How time flies - especially if you go to WalMart. They already have the back to school isle stocked and ready for the start of school. When I was a teacher I hated the first sight of school supplies - at least wait until August. This year, I am excited to buy supplies for my daughter who is going to Pre-School!!! Yes, I am going to cry like a baby the first week, but she is so excited start school like all of the other "big kids." So, for her first day I used DS to make this ABC frame. It only took two tries to get it right, and I think I like the negative cut just as much as the positive!!! I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer and use this for your back to school LOs.

Christmas in July

Well, I am almost ready to scrap Christmas pictures from 2006. Yes, I am behind, but I have decided that scrapbooking is not a race, and as long as I like the pages I create, then it will all be OK. I often feel that I do not utilize my cartridges to their fullest potential, and seldom use the creative features. So, when I saw these circles in All Mixed Up I thought they would make a neat Christmas Tree. I created this file and hope you enjoy and have a merry Christmas in July!

Family mesh

OK - With all of the divorce that seems to be happening around me I decided to do a family mesh to remind everyone who looks at my scrapbooks, and myself, what is REALLY important in life. It seems that big houses and bank accounts are not enough to make a family happy. Sure, they may help, but in the end love and respect are all you need. Good thing, as I'm writing this on a folding table, in a small apartment, where I scrapbook on a dog kennel. Oh well, at least my immediate family is happy!
